The docking procedure went through without a problem, but as soon as the airlocks were sealed tight, their ship groaned as it was forced to match the rotation of the derelict Sanison space station. It settled soon after and the uncomfortable sounds stopped.
"Any signs of life, Aron?" Henry said, tapping some buttons to make sure the lock was tight.
"Still none, just like before," Aron responded. "Let's just go and check it out, the life support systems are still running and are reporting a safe environment."
"Ah, the beauty of nuclear power sources. 15 years later and it's all still running."
"Still weird how the station's just been abandoned like this. These things don't come cheap. You'd think someone would inform someone about it and do something. Repurpose it, or at least mark it as closed and turn off the lights."
"Well, that's why we're here, ain't it? Specifically because nobody seems to care," Henry said with a chuckle.

"Welcome to Aerosun International flight 1506," the flight attendant said warmly to Jennifer and Jake. They handed her their tickets and after a quick check, she looked up and handed them back. "I hope you'll enjoy your flight," she added, moving to the side of the plane's entrance to allow them in.
They walked past her into the center aisle. It was a small airplane, an Airbus 320 new or something. Jennifer didn't really care, other than that it looked pretty modern. Their seats were halfway down the aisle, and she was in the window seat, Jake next to her. A tall man was already sitting in the aisle seat, but got up with a smile when he saw that they were looking at his row.

This is part 6 of the Coffee Saga, find the rest here.
Jerry sat at home after a long day at work. He sighed. He hadn't wanted to see it, but he hadn't been able to stop himself from walking by either. His curiosity had won out over every other signal in his brain.
After selling Coffee Snobs Unanimous, he'd returned to his office job, not knowing what else to do. Most of the people he'd worked with back then had moved on -- retention had never been their strong suit. He was back at his old department too, doing literally the exact same thing he'd done for years before leaving to start Coffee Snobs Unanimous.

Hannigan was a corporation town, a small settlement on a moon nobody really cared about, other than the Iladium deposits it contained. A mining operation and a town to go with it. And, as could be expected, a bar in the center of town called the Iladium. It wasn't creative, but it was a name.

Arin grabbed the beard trimmer and went to work. It had gotten far too scruffy over the past few weeks and people had started to notice. He always had a full beard, but it was creeping down his neck now too. He lifted his chin and moved the hairs out of the way. Yeah, this wasn't a good look at all. Normally he wouldn't care, but there was at least one person whose opinion mattered more than others.

Kaja walked along the corridor and found her way to the bridge. The STS Cuauhtēmallān was the first faster than light ship ever created that had been verified to work. It had been designed and flew under the flag of Guatemala. Mexico also had an FTL ship under construction, but the Cuauhtēmallān was the only currently active ship actually flying missions.

"Why are they chasing us?!" Amy yelled, running across the field as quickly as she could, slipping here and there but making good ground.
"I don't know!" Jason shouted back, also having trouble keeping his footing on the slippery grass.
Guns blasted and bullets dug their way into the grass around them. So far they had been extremely lucky but both of them knew luck could not be counted on.

"Do you think there'll be anything left? You know, up there?"
Jory shook his head slowly, looking downward as he did so. She also lowered her gaze, experiencing the same melancholy.

They'd sent it to the wrong house again. He was getting sick of it. He'd ordered it a long time ago, and he knew at the time it wasn't going to arrive for a good while. It had been a crowdfunding campaign, and they had missed their deadline of delivery multiple times by now, but early shipments had been going out, and he'd been a part of it. Supposedly.
He thought he'd been one of the lucky ones, but for some reason the package just would not arrive.

Be productive. Consume less, produce more. Simple rules to live by, seemingly, if you have the willpower to do so. But it's harder than you thought. You're tired after a day of work, one of those evenings where you didn't make plans with friends, so you slump down on the couch and turn on youtube, netflix, a game, or even just wikipedia and waste away an hour, maybe 2, maybe even the rest of the evening. You end up not cooking a meal, sometimes just eating what others would deem a breakfast meal for dinner.
It keeps you alive, but it doesn't feed you, you know? That goes both for the meals and for the way those evenings are spent.
